In this post, Fournier Polymers presents Eni Versalis PS-PE (Polystyrene-Polyethylene) products. This family of styrenics are commonly used for different applications such as fat food packaging, refrigerators, thermoformed panels for tractors, tubs and lids.
Some of the main common characteristics of PS-PE grades are:
- High impact
- Excellent chemical resistance
- High mechanical properties (also at very low temperature)
- Easy Processing
- High Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance
- Oil Resistant

PS-PE with Koblend
Koblend P 477E is a special polystyrene alloy which combines the easy processing of styrenics with superior impact strength and excellent environmental stress cracking resistance to chemicals, oils and fatty foods.

It is recommended for the extrusion and the thermoforming of sheets for industrial applications, for inner liners of refrigerators and packaging for fatty foods.
The most common processing technologies used are film extrusion, foil extrusion, other types of extrusion and thermoforming. Extrusion is a typical processing with a melt temperature between 200ºC and 230ºC.
